Pakoras and Paharganj
Pakoras is many name like pakora, pakoda, pakoda, fakira, bhajiya, bhaji, bhaji or ponako, is a fried snack, and pakoras paharganj (Delhi) and hot cup of tea has beautiful Attachment. there is A unique love And attraction between paharganj and pakoras. Whenever i get chance me and my friends went to paharganj for having pakoras.
How can is it when monsoon time and pakoras are not made. pakoras have a distinct feature in India. Whenever it rains, the first thing that comes to your mind is food. In every house you will see pakoras being made.
Do you know that many people in India do not even know how pakoras are made ? Because in India, pakoras are made by following different recipes in every household. But the fun of eating is only in the small roadside shops that make pakoras. You cannot make that taste available in your home all the time.
Are Pakoras good for health ?
Many people ask me. Are pakoras really good for health ? And always my is answer no. Because Pakoras are made by deep frying , Pakoras increase bad cholesterol and lower good cholesterol from the body so this reason i never say pakoras is good for health.
Only oil is not the reason, Sometimes spices also not according to your body. So please always keep open your eyes When you adding spices in Pakoras.
The difference between pakora and bhaji?
Many people still keep thinking that pakoras and bhaji are same. there is very small Pakoras is made using no water in the batter. It is very crisp. The salt makes the onion lose water and that becomes the water for the batter, and Bhajji has water added to batter with spices. They are softer and not crispy. but still people doing same mistake every time they start add water to making pakodas, and never get pakoras crispy.
So that’s why I said above that people don’t know how pakoras are made? And that is true also. In India, a good confectioner is needed to make jalebi, same you need A good chef is also needed to make pakoras. pakoras always Serve with light spicy and mint chutney and cup of Hot Tea.
Easy Quick pakoras Recipe
- 15 gram Cauliflower
- 30 gram Potato
- 40 gram Onion Red
- 05 gram Eggplant Baby
- 20 ml Lemon Juice
- 05 gram Ginger (Paste)
- 05 gram Garlic (Paste)
- 10 gram Red Chilly Powder (Kashmiri)
- 05 gram Chat Masala
- 10 gram Turmeric Powder
- 30 gram Gram Flour (Besan)
- 05 gram Fresh Coriander
- 05 gram Carrom Seed
- 03 gram Fresh Green Chilly
- 03 ltr Cooking Oil(For Frying)
- 180 gram Mint Chutney
- Salt to taste
- Wash all the vegetables and fine chop it.
- Mix all the ingredients with Gram Flour and add half cup water to make a thick batter.
- Mix chop vegetable with the batter and make small round shaped balls.
- Deep fried the Vegetables balls on medium fire.
- Served with Mint Chutney.
